Porches Bed & Breakfast |
Murdock Mckay (1775-1843), Register of deeds for New Hanover
County and his wife Jane McMurphy (1775-1847), a native of
Scotland, built the house. Their son Kenneth Murchison McKay
updated it to the popular Italianate style in 1870. Dr. William
H. Green, a Wilmington druggist, purchased the property in 1878
and added the north Queen Anne Style wing in 1890. Recently
renovated, the home features four distinctive porches.
4 Porches Bed and Breakfast has four beautiful rooms
available for our guests. Each room offers a high-speed internet
connection, TV with DVD player and off street parking. Every
morning we serve a fresh gourmet breakfast along with pastries,
coffee and fruit. There are regular and tandem bicycles
available for touring Wilmington. We welcome smokers, children
and four legged friends and can provide for any special
amenities you may require.
